The Clothesline Project

On Saturday, April 28, A Safe Place will be exhibiting its annual display of the Clothesline Project in the Nantucket Atheneum. Garden from 9:30AM – 12:30PM.

The local Clothesline Project is a visual display that bears witness to violence against women, children and men.  This emotionally moving art project consist of t-shirts decorated by local survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The t-shirts are hung on a clothesline display to honor survivors and to memorialize victims, help with the healing process, educate, document and raise awareness of the issues of domestic violence and sexual  assault.
