Options for Immigrants
On June 18th, A Safe Place Bilingual Advocate, Carla, provided an educational opportunity for all of the agency’s staff regarding the different options that immigrants currently have to apply to stay in the United States in the aftermath of violence and abuse. She detailed the differences for people who have suffered a Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault crime either in their home country, en route to here, or during their time spent here. Carla was very knowledgeable on the different nuances to each application process, the time frames each could take, and the requirements that the applicant must meet to fulfill the requirements of each application. Thank you, Carla!
