Location: Great Hall @ the Nantucket Atheneum

A Safe Place is presenting an Internet Safety for Tweens program for parents of children in grades 4-8. We know that children are creating a permanent digital presence and parents need to be a part of that and have an understanding of the digital world. This class will cover topics such as: cyberbullying, sexting, online predators, helpful parent strategies for involvement in children’s internet activities, as well as a focus on the positive things that children are doing through online technology.

This interactive class will be presented by A Safe Place’s Advocate, Kathy Butterworth, in collaboration with Janie Hobson Dupont from the Nantucket Atheneum. Kathy and Janie hope to give parents the tools they need to keep their children safe on the Internet.
